emberlight. A simple plug and play smart socket that gives you control of your lights from anywhere in the world. It can even use proximity to control your lights.
Our daily lives have seen significant change due to technology. When it comes to lighting, however, very little has changed and we still rely on light switches for lighting control. In today's world, we can control our thermostats from our smartphone and even instantaneously SMS with someone half way around the world. But, when it comes to your lights, we still have to get up and physically turn them off. Emberlight had a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2014 which achieved just over $300k in pre-orders and exceeded our initial goal by 600%.
A smartphone owner who connects with their world and the home they live in with their mobile device. Our early adopter tends to be a tech savvy individual familiar with the connected home space.
I began my relationship with emberlight by designing the mobile app which is in development and close to release. As part of the founding team, I designed the emberlight brand, iOS app, Android app, marketing site and Kickstarter campaign. I've also created proto-personas and conducted customer development interviews. I'm currently finalizing the designs for the emberlight packaging.
